Hi, I’m interested to join the programme this mid-year and would like to ask about the prepayment prior to booking a slot. The prepayment can only be made via postal? Can i make an online payment? I realize that the registration for this year will only open on the coming 14th of Feb. Does that mean i need to start posting the registration and declaration forms with the money to the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu now so that it can reach UMT by the 14th?

I have a Singaporean friend who is a nature and animals lover would like to join this volunteering programme too. But the fee of USD250 is a bit too expensive for him. Is there any way I can do to ask for a reduction in the price? To be frank, USD250 for foreigners is too expensive. Not all foreigners are rich right. I really that he can be offered a cheaper price. 😉

Sorry for asking so many questions. Thanks a million first =)

Thanks Joachim. The best time will be during the peak season which will be in June – August.

Jellyfish, we are not looking for profit. The price for RM300 for student is extremely cheap for a week stay at Chagar Hutang, transportation, food, etc.

Lets do it to save the turtles!

Hello everybody. I am puzzled to see that many of the comments above mentioned about the cost to be RM300 per person, for Malaysian student. But the table above states that it is RM400 per person. What does the another RM100 account for?

      Hi Zhi Shiuh,

This year the fee is increased to RM400 (students) and RM650 (non students). This money is to cover your one week accommodation, boat rides, and food. Besides that, income generated from the volunteer program will be used for our long term research. Thank you.

Thanks for your reply for my previous question.

A friend of mine will register as a Malaysian student this year, but she will graduate just before the date we plan to go for this program — early August. So can she still enjoy the student price?

Hey. Was wondering, you mentioned the fee for malaysian
students is rm400. However, the amount listed above under the
‘NEW!’ section is rm500. Thus, i would like to know which is the
right cost for malaysian students? Thanks a bunch!

      Hello Jean,

The RM400 is for registration on the 2nd January 2011. As for the RM500, it is for the priority bookings that will only be opened from 16th till 21st of January 2011. An extra of RM100 will be charged for priority bookings. All the profit generated from the volunteer program is for our long term tagging and conservation of sea turtle in Redang Island.
